Privacy policy

LodgeSync is an app that union lodges and branches use to share notices, documents and contacts with their members. This policy explains what we collect and why.

Who is responsible

Your lodge decides who can use its space on LodgeSync and what is posted there. LodgeSync runs the service for the lodge. Questions about your lodge’s content go to your lodge. Questions about this policy go to LodgeSync.

What we collect

  • Your email address, which you use to sign in.
  • Your name, company, site and crew, which you enter when you request access.
  • If you’re listed as a delegate, a phone number and whether your phone and email are shown, which you control.
  • A notification token for your phone, so we can send notifications.
  • Which notices and documents you open. Your lodge’s admins see totals only, never who opened what.
  • A log of actions in your lodge, such as approvals and published notices.

Sensitive information

Being a member of a union is sensitive information under the Privacy Act 1988. We collect it only to run your lodge’s space, only with your consent when you request access, and we never use it for marketing.

Where it’s stored and who helps us

Your lodge’s data is stored in its own database with Supabase, in Sydney. We use these services to run LodgeSync:

  • Supabase, for the database, sign-in and file storage.
  • Resend, to send sign-in codes and lodge emails.
  • Expo, Apple and Google, to deliver phone notifications.
  • Cloudflare, to host this website and the web app, and to block spam on the contact form.

Some of these providers may handle information outside Australia, for example in the United States.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while you have an account. When you delete your account, your profile and your record of opened notices and documents are deleted. See Delete your account.

Your choices

  • Update your details in Profile.
  • Turn off lodge emails in Profile → Email updates.
  • Delete your account at any time.
